In addition to our advocacy work, Prostasia operates as a social enterprise that provides services to researchers, Internet platforms, and those involved in law enforcement. Unlike many other child protection groups, our approach is holistic, multidisciplinary, and multi-stakeholder. This enables our clients and partners to trust us that the advice we provide them will be balanced, principled, and evidence-based. Some of the services that we provide are highlighted below. What We Can Do
With our rigorously evidence-based approach and a commitment to broad and inclusive community consultation, Prostasia is uniquely equipped to address difficult questions that many other organizations avoid.
Connecting researchers with funders
Some researchers find it difficult to obtain support for work on sensitive issues directly through their institution. Prostasia can act as an intermediary to facilitate the funding of this research.
Independent research grants
When a particular research need has been identified, Prostasia will aggregate funding from multiple sources to offer grants or subgrants to independent researchers.
Regulatory compliance
Working with your lawyers, Prostasia can help platforms to comply with laws such as FOSTA—at the same time as we work to have them replaced with more effective and fact-based laws and policies.
Trust and safety outsourcing
Prostasia consults to Internet platforms that may lack the resources to have child protection experts in-house on their trust and safety teams.
Advice to policymakers
Prostasia provides training and can offer testimony to policymakers who share our vision of an evidence-based approach to the prevention of child sexual abuse and the sharing of unlawful images of minors.
Consulting to law enforcement
Prostasia can assist law enforcement agencies and the autonomous groups that work with them to improve community trust and engagement by providing them with access to researchers, experts, and stakeholder representatives.
