As Activist, you are responsible for working with our management team to identify opportunities for advocacy and lobbying in support of Prostasia’s goals, and for developing persuasive campaigns that are directed at the right external audiences to achieve those goals.
Campaign activities may include social media actions, submissions, petitions, open letters, and face to face or virtual meetings with decision makers and influencers.
Previous targets of our activism campaigns have included state and federal lawmakers, companies, and trade associations in the United States, Europe, and Australia. We also sometimes engage in joint campaigns with external partners, either initiated by those partners or by Prostasia Foundation, and your role will include the cultivation and expansion of those relationships.
You will work remotely and in close collaboration with our Executive Director, Consulting Psychologist, Legislative Analyst, Designer, Social Media Manager, and Blog Editor as required.
Required qualifications: Experience with online campaigning (or a willingness to learn), and well-developed writing skills.
Preferred qualifications: Knowledge of the lawmaking process in the United States, the European Union, or Australia is an advantage. Progress towards an undergraduate degree in political science, law, marketing, or another relevant discipline would also be greatly beneficial. To be most effective at this role, you should be resident in the United States, Europe, or Australia.
Personal attributes: The successful applicant should be self-motivated, eager and quick to learn, and able to work with minimal supervision. They will have an outgoing personality and not be afraid of cold calling and emailing contacts and prospects.
This role can be filled as a contract position, a part-time salaried role, or an internship depending on the applicant’s experience. In all cases, there will be a pathway to progress to full-time employment.
